Amanda Metcalf is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), wife, and mother of three assisting Orlando area mothers [and their partners] in their breastfeeding journey. In addition to being an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and Certified Lactation Counselor, Amanda is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in postpartum mood disorders (including: postpartum depression and anxiety) and has years of experience helping all kinds of families adapt to new and transitional experiences. Amanda faced numerous challenges while nursing her three sons; including tongue and lip ties, oversupply, clogged ducts, breast biopsies, and repeated bouts of mastitis. These difficulties prompted her to pursue the education and training necessary to make a career out of helping other mothers navigate any potential difficulties and reach their breastfeeding goals.
Amanda earned her certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners in 2020. Prior to being board certified, Amanda earned her certification as a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) from The Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice – Healthy Children’s Center for Breastfeeding. Amanda received both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University of Central Florida where she earned a BS in Psychology and an MS in Clinical Psychology. Additionally, Amanda is Certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) and is currently pursuing her PhD – Doctor of Philosophy. She and her family now call Lake Mary, FL home.
