Stephany has been a part of the health care setting for nearly 8 years. She has spent the last 6 years working in Orlando Health’s Baby-Friendly, Winnie Palmer Hospital for Mothers and Babies. She has experience in Med/Surg, Women’s Gyn./Women’s Health, Mother-Baby, Antepartum as well as Postpartum care. She is a strong advocate for women, babies, and the community. Her passion as an advocate for the community was reinforced after having many difficulties in the beginning of her journey as a new mom. She quickly realized that resources need to be made more available to parents as well as healthcare providers. She believes in holistic care, where you help treat the person as a whole and not just one particular concern, and that can include caring for the patient and ensuring that she has the support that she needs. Stephany states, “My hope is that by helping people start off strong with love and care, it will help build a foundation for a strong and loving future.” She has earned her certification as a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) from The Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice – Healthy Children’s Center for Breastfeeding. She has spent thousands upon thousands of hours with prenatal and postpartum mothers and has an interest in Speech Pathology and its benefits with breastfeeding. Stephany is a student at the University of Central Florida and has received her Bachelors of Science. She is planning to take her IBCLC exam in the Spring of 2020. She and her family reside in the Longwood/Apopka area.
